In some places, like Sweden in the 1800s* (I accidentally said 1700s) that meant a surprising change many of us can't directly relate to.
People stopped having their reindeers stolen! It was common to steal reindeers in that part of the world because they were a source of food and necessary for many needs in the frozen, cold parts of the world.
But as the Gospel came out of Lars Levi Laestadius' revivals people changed, and in one real way they changed was people stopped stealing reindeers!
