Basil was an early church father who pioneered monastic living. He lived in Asia and gave up pretty much all his belongings to encourage people to live a life of simpleness for God. In his sermon, "To The Rich," he challenges the men of his time to repent and change their greedy hearts. He uses the Gospel to explain that too many are more interested in accumulation than in trusting in God. Special thanks to Chris Ridgeway for narrating this sermon. Chris Ridgeway is a Christian leader who writes on church leadership, communications and technology and he is the co-host of the Device & Virtue podcast- where he argues about the wrongs and rights of everyday technology like smartphones—and how they fit into the Christian Life. He is also the host of the Device And Virtue podcast which helps pastors and church workers learn to use technology in a way that glorifies God.
